Frequently Asked Questions
-
How do I get started with therapy?
Once you fill out the contact form, I will respond to you via email typically within 48 hours! At that time, we’ll schedule a free 15-min phone consultation to talk about what’s bringing you into therapy, assess if I’m a good fit for your needs, and answer any questions you might have. Then we’ll get scheduled for a full intake, typically within the next two weeks!
-
What is therapy with you like?
I always hope that our work will feel authentic, warm, and like we’re two experts collaborating on how to make the best changes for your own life. Authenticity to me also looks like care that is sex-positive, anti-racist, and fat liberation-based!
-
How will therapy with you help me?
By taking a look together at your current and past sources of stress, linking specific coping strategies to these stressors, and exploring old internal messages about yourself, your body, emotions, and relationships that are no longer helping you, I hope that therapy will help you have a better understanding of your experiences and how to best manage future stress when it arises.
-
Do you take insurance?
Yes! I am in-network with United Healthcare/Optum, Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, and most other state BCBS PPO plans.
If you don’t have these insurance plans but would still like to work together, you may be eligible for reimbursement of out-of-network therapy costs! Feel free to reach out if you have questions. -
What are your private pay rates?
I charge $250 for the intake session and for 55-minute sessions.
I also charge $200 for 45-minute sessions.
Looking for sliding scale? I offer a limited number of slots for low-income clients through my partnership with Open Path Collective. -
Do you meet with clients in-person?
At this time, I am seeing all clients virtually via a HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform.
-
How long are therapy sessions?
Classic therapist answer: It depends! Insurance regulations have established 45-minute sessions as the standard for typical client concerns. Sometimes clients may meet certain criteria which would allow for a 55-minute session. Plan for 45 minutes unless we discuss otherwise!

I am not queer, millennial, or a woman. Will you work with me?
Such a good question! My training and specialization with these identities and concerns help me to provide especially effective therapy but this is not an exclusive VIP list. We will always discuss over email/phone to assess if I am the best fit for your therapy needs. If I’m not, I’ll provide referrals to point you in the right direction.
